Description: Knowingly and unlawfully impersonating another person or assuming their identity for personal gain or to cause them legal, financial, or criminal liability. This includes using someone else’s identification, forged documents, or providing false personal information to mislead law enforcement, government agencies, or financial institutions.

Fine: $200

Sentence: 20 months

Offenses May Include:

• Falsely identifying yourself as another person.

• Using stolen or forged identification documents (e.g., driver’s licenses, passports).

• Signing legal documents, citations, or police statements under another person’s name.

• Committing acts that could cause civil or criminal consequences for the person being impersonated.

Important Note: This charge applies regardless of whether the person whose identity is used is real or fictitious, so long as the intent is to deceive or mislead for benefit or harm.
