Going Out of Character (OOC)
RP before OOC! If you have an issue with how RP is going, the best way to get a staff member is to create a ticket in the discord. Please, do not use the OOC to end a scene if it is not going your way, stay in the RP mindset and try to change it through RP. Ending a scene by saying or going OOC is considered FailRP. Using OOC during an RP scenes can result in disciplinary action. Using the skybox for any conversations not pertaining to RP is considered going OOC.
Deathmatching
Killing another player for little or no engaged roleplay is strictly forbidden. Deliberately attempting to start a fight with little to no reason is also not allowed. There will be absolutely no RDM or VDM, if a traffic accident has occurred while a player was hit by a car it needs to be roleplayed out with EMS and Police.
Downed & New Life Rule
Phase 1: (Fetal position / On your side) When in this phase you are considered knocked out/down, which means you're able to still speak in game and on radio and remember the general interaction that leads to you ending up on the ground. You still are required to act hurt as you have been injured. If you are in this phase and you get revived by EMS (or taken to the hospital before phase 2) you MAY remember what happed to you.
Only exception is being injured to the point where you would normally be "dead". ie. GSW to the head, falling from extreme heights, etc. you will be placed in phase 1, but should RP as if you are in Phase 2. NO verbal communication should be done, NO radio communication should be done. If EMS arrives on scene /me should be utilized to relay what your injuries are so they know how to conduct the scene. If EMS is unavailable for you to be transported another civilian/officer should transport you to the hospital for the subject to RP out their injuries and treatment.
Phase 2: (On your back / Fully bled out) When in this phase you are considered dead and are required to roleplay it as such. This means NO speaking or interacting with those around you. You are DEAD, no talking while DEAD. You will forget everything that happened within the past 30 minutes (i.e. how you died, who killed you, who you were with, and any general information that you learned, etc.). Once a friend or EMS brings you back to the hospital in this phase (or you respawn) you are required to do as such. FORGET EVERYTHING 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO DYING! Breaking this rule will result in disciplinary action. If you are downed for any reason, there is no requirement to hit your “G” muscle to call for EMS. Another civilian/cop may transport you to the hospital. Playing out the RP side to what your injuries are and how you got them to someone who did not see what happened to you. EMS is to be utilized when they are available, but if they are busy or at a different location you may wait for them to arrive at your location or at the hospital. The abuse of skipping EMS is considered FailRP and will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
If you are downed and removed from the scene by EMS/Fire, Police, or taken to the hospital by another subject you are not allowed to return to the scene until the situation/scene is complete. If you are taken to the hospital and are unable to check-in you are still required to RP out the hospital admittance, (go lay in a hospital bed, we all know how long it really takes once you get into the hospital before you leave).
Power-Gaming
Power-gaming is the act of using an in-game mechanic, any external information, or a roleplay concept to favor your own character or story, and give yourself an unfair or unrealistic advantage. (No running to teleportation markers to escape, such as running into your apartment or anywhere that is not accessible by others. This includes an example of doing a robbery, getting in a chase and running to a garage, and putting your vehicle away. If you are still in your original vehicle then there should be a 10-minute wait period to store that vehicle, repair, or modify it after a pursuit.).
Metagaming
The act of using out-of-character/external information for in-game situations. This includes stream sniping, 3rd party VOIP applications (discord calls, TS for non-LEO), etc. Any information used from watching streams, typing/reading chat, etc. will be met with disciplinary action up to and including a ban from the server. Exceptions to external information are items handled in discord in an official RP capacity such as department complaints or DOJ court cases.
Offensive RP/Suicide RP/Combat Logging
Roleplaying any type of sexual assault such as any non-consensual touching, rape, etc. is not allowed and will result in an immediate ban. This type of behavior is unacceptable and a ban appeal will not be allowed. Suicide RP will not be accepted or tolerated.
Logging off or forcibly re-spawning to avoid situations is not allowed. IF you have to log off but are in the middle of an RP situation, you will need acknowledgment from all parties involved. This includes police chases and/or medical scenes. If you know you do not have the time to complete a scenario, do not start it. If all parties involved do not agree that the scene should be ended and you log out it will be considered combat logging and be dealt with accordingly. Once you commit a crime you must wait ten minutes before logging out of the server.
If you are in the middle of a scene and your game crashes or something causes you to suddenly leave, try to log back in as soon as possible and explain your situation. If you cannot get back in within 5 minutes, please create a ticket and explain what happened and whom you were involved with during your scene so we can notify them of the issue. Abusing this rule will result in an immediate suspension or ban.
Explicit Conduct
Racial Slurs, Sexual Harassment, Derogatory Statements, Sexist comments, Transphobic/Homophobic terms towards others are NOT allowed. Excessive swearing is also not allowed. We do not take these situations lightly. We handle these situations on a case-by-case basis.
Exploiting Bugs/Exploiting Scripts
At no time are you allowed to exploit bugs in-game for personal gain. You are required to report a bug if you find one. Knowingly exploiting the script and/or the GTA V engine in order to gain an advantage is not allowed.
If you find a bug please open a bug report ticket within the LateNight RP Discord.
Using an exploit for personal gain within the server will result in a instant ban from LateNight and MGN. Example: Creating a new character to transfer the money the another character over and over again.
Interactions between your characters
Your personal characters cannot know each other from an in-character perspective. You are also not allowed to interact between the two characters ie. transferring money or any other assets between your characters or using a third-party "friend" to transfer items between your characters. If this is discovered those items will be deleted from your inventory and you will receive disciplinary action.
Robbing Players
When robbing another player, you are only able to take what they currently have in their inventory. This means that you cannot request bank transfers or force them to sell their car(s), nor are you allowed to take items from someone else's apartment. In the instance that you are robbing/trying to kidnap a player, you cannot kill that player unless they outright refuse to comply, provide resistance, or provoke you to inflict harm.
If a person is killed (on their side or back) they can be robbed. However, the reason for killing them can not be specifically to rob them. There must be roleplay behind it.
Healing in a situation
All citizens are not allowed to use any healing items/add armor during a situation where their life is in immediate danger. An example is during a gunfight, that is considered unrealistic roleplay. Once the fight is over, then you may use healing items.
Failure to Roleplay
Failing to roleplay is strictly forbidden. LNRP is a strict realistic roleplay server, you are expected to be roleplaying at all times. If a situation presents itself where rules are broken, roleplay first, and report later.
AFK/Money Farming
Do not go AFK on the server for any longer than 15 minutes, log out and return when you are ready to play. If you are observed AFK for longer than 15 minutes you will be kicked from the server at that time and can relog when you are ready to do so.
If you are AFK for more than 30 minutes, the server will auto kick you. If staff members observe this happening multiple times, staff members reserve the right to ask why you are constantly getting auto kicked.
Impersonating Emergency Personnel
Citizens are prohibited from impersonating emergency personnel this includes, but is not limited to
Police
Fire
DOC
Judge
DOJ
Stealing/Harming Emergency Vehicles/Personnel
Citizens are not allowed to steal Police/EMS/Fire vehicles. You may steal from police vehicles but not the car itself. Fire/EMS vehicles/personnel are restricted from being stolen and stolen from.
Fire/EMS personnel are able to be killed, kidnapped, robbed, or held hostage. In order to kidnap EMS, there MUST be at least 3 EMS on duty AND 5 LEOs on duty. The Fire/EMS vehicles are still fully protected. The fire stations and hospital are protected. You cannot break in or steal from any of these places and/or vehicles present there.
Robbery Rules
Robbers can not take a friend(s) hostage, one of the robbers cannot pose as a hostage or have a fake hostage. The Robbers must go out and find a random person and take them hostage for these scenarios. If a ransom is being requested in exchange for the hostage, the hostage MUST be exchanged for the money (or anything else like a car). There is technically no limit on hostages, however you must be able to manage the amount of hostages you have. Taking the hostage with you after the crime is committed is not allowed, a hostage will not be allowed to leave the scene of a robbery. Law Enforcement will take action to prevent the hostage from being taken from the scene.
Robbers - your scene must be set up before starting the robbery. You can not start the robbery and then add people to it or show up later with the hostage. You MUST have a backpack/or bag on your person while conducting the robbery, this "shows" in RP where you are putting the items you are stealing.
No more than 5 robbers on the scene of a robbery. A hostage does not count towards this number.
Negotiations can be conducted by radio or phone between the police and robbers.
Cop Baiting
No cop baiting. Do not purposefully try and get police attention on you by doing things you would not do with an Officer near you. This includes burning out in the middle of intersections, purposefully revving your motor at lights to bait a pullover/chase, and purposely committing traffic violations in the vicinity of police.
EMS/Fire Custody
When you are revived, you are in medical custody until the medic clears you. You cannot immediately run after someone for revenge, you are injured ie. if you are stabbed multiple times in the legs and you just got patched up, there is no way you can run normally right then. You must RP your injuries for at least 15 minutes following your discharge.
Police Mistreatment
If you feel you have been mistreated in a police situation, do not police the police. Use the proper channels (ie. speak to a supervisor, fill out a complaint form for that specific agency). Do not contact an admin unless the officer is clearly breaking a server rule. Take abuse of power as in character and report it as you see fit.
RDM/VDM
RDM (Random Deathmatch): killing/attempting to kill without intent and roleplay.
VDM (Vehicle deathmatch): using a vehicle to kill/attempt to kill without intent or roleplay. KEEP IN MIND THAT WE ARE A ROLEPLAY SERVER. Deadly action needs to be roleplayed. Killing on sight is not allowed as it could be seen as a form of RDM.
Fear RP
Fear RP is what you would do in real life if faced with a scary situation, again it is an RP server do not treat it like a videogame and break game mechanics to get away. For example, if you are alone in an alleyway and 4 gang members hold you at gunpoint and you cannot escape without dying, you must follow Fear RP. The average person would follow their demands as they are helpless in a situation of such, you wouldn't just walk away.
If you are already in your car and someone pulls a gun on you, it is acceptable to speed away. At this time you are taking a chance on being shot/shot at.
If the cop/suspect informs you to not touch the radio/phone this includes hitting your panic button you should comply or die.
Perma-Death
A player may decide to perm-death any of their characters. No player will be forced to perm-death a character, except as described above.
If a player decides to do a perm-death, they must be declared dead by any on-duty EMS, use the "/me" command to inform the EMS of your intentions when they arrive on the scene.
Torture RP
While Torture RP is allowed it must be done within reason and the victim must be allowed to continue to RP after the scenario with all body parts still functional and intact if they so choose to do so. They can keep any deformities left from the RP if they wish. SEXUAL ACTS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
If you did not consent or withdraw consent and the action continues, open a ticket ASAP!
Camping Illicit Areas
Camping illicit spots: Intentionally sitting on high traffic areas that lead to illicit spots (drug collection areas, job areas, money washing, etc., excepting drug processing locations ONLY) is not allowed for the reasons of robbing individuals. Cops are also not allowed to camp drug processing or collection areas for the sole purpose of making a traffic stop and busting the subject leaving the drug area. Officers are allowed to conduct surveillance to help build a bigger case.
Radio Rules
Civilian and Emergency Services Radios (LEO, SADOT, EMS etc) are water resistant and can be used while in water, but are not to be utilized while you are fully submerged under the water or while actively swimming. You may use the radio after diving down once you resurface and are treading water or exit the water.
Bodycams/Recorded Footage
A “bodycam” is referencing any form of videos that can be used as video evidence within roleplay. Body Cam is only acceptable under these circumstances:
If you are not LEO or EMS, you must have some sort of camera signifying that you are recording footage.
If you are LEO and are wearing a bulletproof vest, a body cam is assumed to be running at all times unless specified otherwise.
If you are LEO and are not wearing a bulletproof vest, you must be in close proximity to a patrol vehicle for the bodycam to be deemed acceptable or be wearing a bodycam type uniform item.
If you are wearing a pair of glasses that would logically have the technology fittable to it, you may use it to record what you see visually, but only if you do a proper /me at the beginning of the footage to indicate the start.
If you are recording only audio, there must be an item indication (Ex. an earpiece or microphone) and a proper /me at the beginning of the recording to indicate the start. When this is done, even if you also recorded footage, only the audio is acceptable.
Setting Scenes
Do not abuse scenes or use them to communicate or show the following.
Any form of hate speech / hate symbols
Fecal / Urination
Erotic Roleplay
Any and all SEX or nude activities are NOT allowed on LateNight RP.
3rd Party Enhancements
The use of any third-party mods/apps are prohibited in the city. This includes, but is not limited to: third party crosshair cheats, the use of emotes to get through locked doors.

Soundboards
Soundboards are only permitted IF used in good taste or to better roleplay.
Ex: Playing heart monitor beeps while in the hospital is acceptable.
Ex: Playing meme sounds because “it's funny” is not acceptable.
Car Swaps
Car swaps are limited to 2 swaps per chase.
Pregnancy RP
Absolutely no pregnancy roleplay or any form of roleplay that involves children or those under the age of 18.
