General Information
The Department of Justice (DOJ) serves as the judicial branch for the State of San Andreas, ensuring fairness, due process, and the proper administration of justice throughout the state. The Department operates out of the San Andreas Justice Center, where all legal matters—including court hearings, licensing reviews, and administrative cases—are conducted. The DOJ oversees all judicial and legal proceedings within the state, including both criminal and civil matters. It functions as a neutral and independent branch dedicated to upholding the Constitution and maintaining the rule of law.
Responsibilities
Members of the Department of Justice are responsible for the following:
Legislation and Legal Oversight: Drafting, reviewing, and amending state legislation to ensure consistency and fairness within the legal system.
Judicial Proceedings: Overseeing court sessions, trials, and hearings; setting legal precedents that may be adopted into case law across the state.
Licensing Authority: Managing and approving select legal and professional licenses, including those requiring judicial or state-level approval.
Legal Representation: Supervising and providing Public Defenders to ensure all citizens of San Andreas have access to fair legal representation, regardless of their financial status.
Interdepartmental Coordination: Working closely with law enforcement agencies and government departments to ensure that justice is administered lawfully, efficiently, and transparently.
