# Mechanics

There are two types of mechanic shops available throughout the city: **Visual Mods** and **Performance Shops**.

**Visual Mod Shops** let you customize the appearance of your vehicle. Whether you're looking for a fresh paint job, new wheels, window tint, or other cosmetic upgrades, this is where you can make your ride stand out from the crowd.

**Performance Shops** focus on improving how your vehicle performs. Upgrade your engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and other components to increase your vehicle's speed, handling, and overall performance.

During the tutorial, you'll unlock your first **Visual Mod Shop** and **Performance Shop**. As you continue exploring the city, you'll discover and unlock additional mechanic shops scattered across the map, giving you even more places to customize and upgrade your vehicles.
